The holidays are a special time of year in Castle Rock, and it all begins with Starlighting and runs through the end of January. The “Season of the Star” is a celebration of lights and the beauty of our Town during the winter. Keep your family in the holiday spirit with the family-friendly activities held throughout town.
Saturday, Nov. 23, 2-7 p.m.
Downtown Castle Rock
Start the season off right with Starlighting Saturday, Nov. 23 from 2-7 p.m. Starlighting activities include hot chocolate, nonprofit booths, live entertainment, and Santa. The Starlighting ceremony will begin promptly at 5 p.m. and the star will be lit at approximately 5:30 p.m. A beautiful fireworks display from the Rock will cap off the event.
Storytellers and S’mores
Saturday, Dec. 7, 5-7 p.m.
Santa and some of his friends are stopping by Festival Park to read holiday favorites from our giant Storytellers Chair. Enjoy roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, hot chocolate and other family friendly fun at this free community event. This year hop on the Castle Rock Trolley for a short ride to enjoy the beautiful lights of Downtown.
Friday, Dec. 13, 3-6 p.m.
The Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park
Enjoy kid-friendly activities in a winter-themed wonderland including live reindeer, Santa (parents bring your cameras!), cookies, hot chocolate, sleigh rides, outdoor games and an obstacle course. Kids will receive an elf buddy at the end of the obstacle course while supplies last. The Winter Express train station will be at the Millhouse. The train will take passengers on a one-mile ride along paved trails in Philip S. Miller Park through a winter wonderland.
