Season of the Star

The Season of the Star events will be held in Downtown Castle Rock, at Festival Park, and at Philip S. Miller Amphitheater throughout December.

Starlighting


Start the season off right with Starlighting Saturday, Nov. 18. Join your friends, family and community as the Town of Castle Rock, the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce, and the Downtown Alliance delight in the charm of our small town holiday activities. 

The spirit of the season begins in Downtown Castle Rock with the opening of Festival Park and the annual Starlighting ceremony.  The reimagined Festival Park opens the day of Starlighting with a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony and short tour at 3:30 p.m.

Starlighting activities begin at 2 p.m. and include food, adult beverages, live entertainment and fireworks at 5 p.m. The Rink at the Rock also opens for the season this day.


Celebrate the season


The Season of the Star includes free carriage rides through Downtown, carolers, and other activities every Saturday. Carolers will be entertaining throughout Downtown from 2 to 4 p.m. Nov 25-Dec. 22.

Carriage rides


Enjoy free carriage rides from 5 to 8 p.m. Nov. 25, Dec. 2, 9, 16 and 23. Pick up is at Festival Park.

Elf on the Shelf

Turkey ROCK Trot
Thanksgiving Day
8-11 a.m.


Fairground and Downtown Castle Rock “Run to Change Lives!” Come out trot, stroll, run, or walk, and join Castle Rock’s Thanksgiving morning tradition with the 13th Annual Turkey ROCK Trot presented by Castle Rock Adventist Hospital.

Storytellers and S’mores

Bundle up and head over to Downtown Castle Rock to enjoy the holiday lights and check out the recently redesigned Festival Park. Santa and some of his friends are stopping by to read holiday favorites from our giant Storytellers Chair. Enjoy roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, hot chocolate and other family friendly fun at this free community event.

Reindeer Games

Philip S. Miller Amphitheater


Head over the Amphitheater at Philip S. Miller Park to enjoy a winter-themed wonderland including reindeer, Santa photo ops, train and sleigh rides, dress up like an elf, outdoor games and more! Please bundle up as this is event is mostly held outdoors.

Candlelighting
Dec. 24
5-6 p.m.


This annual event takes place on Christmas Eve and is hosted by Calvary Castle Rock Held in the beautiful setting of Festival Park, the Candlelighting ceremony is open to everyone and is a nice way to spend time with your family before the holiday. This is an outdoor event, so bring a blanket and lawn chair for your comfort.
