Financial information is public record


Reporting is required of all candidate and issue committees and is a matter of public record. Even if no contributions were received or no expenditures were made, reporting is still required and must be filed by the election calendar deadline of 5 p.m. 

All contributions, contributions in-kind, expenditures or obligations must be reported with the name and address of each person and copies of receipts for all single expenditures exceeding $100.   
 

Nov. 6, 2018 Election Filing Dates for Candidate or Issue Committee:


  • Oct. 5, 2018
  • Oct. 16, 2018
  • Oct. 26, 2018
  • Nov. 2, 2018
  • Nov. 21, 2018

Quarterly Filing Dates for Issue or Candidate Committees:


After the election and until a termination report is filed, quarterly reporting is required for any open Issue or Candidate Committees as follows:

  • Jan. 1
  • April 1
  • July 1
  • Oct. 1

If the reporting day is on a weekend or a legal holiday, the report shall be filed by the close of the next business day. The reporting period closes five calendar days prior to the date the report is due.
 
Unexpended funds may be donated to a charitable organization recognized by the Internal Revenue Service under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code or returned to the contributors.
