Earth Day Willow Harvest and Planting

Saturday, April 17, 2021

We will be harvesting and planting willows at three different crossings along East Plum Creek Trail. These crossings were disturbed as a result of the recent construction for the southern extension of the trail between South Perry Street and Crystal Valley Parkway and need to be restored to improve the riparian habitat.

In order to ensure social distancing, volunteers will sign up for one of three teams (A, B, C).
  • Team A will meet at the East Plum Creek Trailhead on South Perry Street across from Safeway.
  • Team B will meet at the Heir and Gannon Trailhead.
  • Team C at the south end of East Plum Creek Trail off of Crystal Valley Parkway.
The willow conservation project  is perfect for Scout groups working on their conservation badges! Plus, learn how to improve and restore riparian habitat.

Get involved! Register here to volunteer for our Earth Day outing.

Rain date is Saturday, April 24.
