Gym-goers, fitness buffs and swimmers, mark your calendars. The Castle Rock Recreation Center will be closed Aug. 8-12 for routine maintenance and general cleaning.
The Recreation Center is closed for a week annually to help make sure the facility stays in tip-top shape.
In addition to generally cleaning, this year, crews will be:
• Draining and acid-washing the lap pool• Resurfacing the slide tower in the leisure pool• Installing 45 pieces of new cardio equipment• Painting throughout the facility• Upgrading the main elevator
Recreation Center pass and punch card holders can use their cards at the MAC at Philip S. Miller Park during the closure. Additionally, lap swimmers can go to Butterfield Crossing Pool, 3952 W. Butterfield Crossing Drive. The outdoor pool will be open from 6 a.m. to noon for lap swimming.
Fitness classes at the Recreation Center will resume on Monday, Aug. 15. In the meantime, join instructors at the Challenge Hill at Philip S. Miller Park. An instructor-led workout will take place from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 10.
