As the Town looks toward the future and plans for transportation needs, we’ve enjoyed hearing your ideas. Now, it’s time to take a look at the proposed projects that could drive (or walk, or bike) the Town into 2040 and beyond.
As part of the Town’s overall planning efforts, the Transportation Master Plan specifically visualizes all aspects of transportation for the Town. That goes beyond roads to bicycle routes, pedestrian links, sidewalks, carpooling, and more. As growth occurs, and the market demands change, plan updates are important. The plan was last updated in 2011, and a lot has changed.
Now, we’re looking ahead two decades to 2040. In fall 2016, the Town gathered feedback regarding our transportation system. That feedback – along with research and analysis – has resulted in a proposed list of roadway, pedestrian and bicycle projects along with ideas for managing demand on the road for the next five, 10 and 20 years. Come weigh-in again.
The Town will host an open house from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at Douglas County High School, 2842 Front St.
During the open house, view the list of projects, and give us your thoughts. Or, after the open house, log on to CRgov.com/TMP to view the list and provide feedback.
Using these additional comments from you – our drivers, bikers and walkers, – the Town will then draft a plan and make it available for public review before it goes Town Council for adoption consideration later this spring.
