Is your home ready for wildfire season? Connect with firefighters May 12 and 23

With thousands of acres of open space, unique natural vegetation and picturesque views, Castle Rock is a beautiful place to live. But firefighters know Colorado’s dry weather can turn Castle Rock’s stunning landscape into a potential fire hazard.

Join Castle Rock Fire and Rescue for two informational open houses to learn the proactive measures the department is taking and how you can help:

May 12: From 1 to 4 p.m. Castle Rock Fire and Rescue will be at the Plaza in Philip S. Miller Park.

May 23: From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Castle Rock Fire and Rescue will be at Station 155, 3833 Crowfoot Valley Road.

In addition to responding to emergencies, Castle Rock Fire and Rescue also prioritizes planning for future incidents and educating the community about fire prevention.

Over the last year, CRFD has been working to establish a Community Wildfire Protection Plan. This plan is a comprehensive and scientifically based analysis of wildfire-related hazards and potential risks in our area. The draft plan defines awareness areas and suggests ways to manage possible fire hazards in each area.

During these open houses, learn about the plan and what you can do around your own home. Also, learn emergency preparedness tips and tell us what you already know about fire safety.
