Celebrate the opening of Fire Station 152 in Crystal Valley on Aug. 4

Station152-NEWS

As the Town continues to grow, Castle Rock Fire and Rescue strives to maintain its levels of service to the community. With that goal in mind, a new fire station has been built in Crystal Valley.

The public is invited to celebrate the opening of the new station, 485 Crystal Valley Parkway, from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 4.

“Ensuring outstanding public safety is one of the Town’s core priorities,” Mayor Jennifer Green said. “Adding a fifth fire station is one way we’re striving to meet the community’s expectations surrounding fire and rescue services.”

Tour the new station, meet its personnel, see a performance by CRFD’s pipes and drums band and a ceremonial flag presentation by the CRFD color guard, watch as new fire apparatus are formally welcomed, and more at the event. Formal comments will start at 10 a.m., with the remainder of the event being an open house.

Light refreshments will be served. Parking for the event will be along Crystal Valley Parkway and Plum Creek Boulevard – look for coned-off areas and signs indicating where to park.

“We spent significant time analyzing calls for service and responses around Town to determine the best location for our new station,” Acting Fire Chief Norris Croom said. “The Town is proud to now have five fire stations to serve the community.” Those stations are in Downtown, Crystal Valley, Founders Village, The Meadows and Diamond Ridge/Sapphire Pointe.

To operate the new station, 12 new staff members have been added to CRFD, bringing the department to over 90 members. While growth-related impact fees are funding the $5.2 million new station, your sales tax dollars are the funding source that will keep it staffed; shopping locally helps ensure the Town can continue providing outstanding public safety services.

Staffed units at the new station will include a paramedic-staffed engine and a cross-staffed wildfire-fighting brush truck. Minimum staffing for these apparatus will be three people 24/7/365.
