3/17 Work With Us Online – Town limiting public access while providing necessary services

Washing hands with soap under faucet; Town of Castle Rock COVID-19 update

Per public health recommendations to limit public gatherings, entrances to Town buildings will be closed beginning March 18. Impacted facilities include Town Hall, Castle Rock Police/Municipal Court and Castle Rock Water’s customer service and administration building.

Limited public access will be allowed at Town facilities as needed for services that cannot be accomplished online. All Town facilities will have posted information on how to reach staff inside, should that be necessary. These health-safety measures will continue indefinitely, until updated guidance indicates it is appropriate to resume typical workplace practices.

Town employees are still working – many of them remotely – to continue providing necessary services; others are in the field, including public safety personnel. Indoor recreation facilities have been closed to public access since March 14 and will also remain closed until updated guidance indicates it is appropriate.

The community is encouraged to work with the Town online to the extent possible. For convenience, the Town has assembled links to frequently accessed online services at CRgov.com/OnlineServices. Complete listings of Town phone numbers and email addresses are online at CRgov.com/ContactUs. Please reach out – we are available to help. Town phone lines are experiencing intermittent issues, as networks have been overloaded with the surge in remote workers and students. Our teams are committed to promptly answering emails during regular business hours, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Town Council will meet tonight as scheduled. Public access is being allowed with appropriate social distancing.

Among other items, Council will consider a declaration of disaster in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Council will also consider adopting special meeting procedures to allow Council meetings to be conducted virtually during declared disasters. Additional details regarding public participation will be shared prior to scheduling any virtual Town Council meetings.

Those with pending cases in Castle Rock Municipal Court should know that sessions are not being held during the remainder of March, nor in April. Visit CRgov.com/Court, or watch your mailbox, for further information.

Efforts are underway by the Town and its partners, the Castle Rock Chamber of Commerce and Castle Rock Economic Development Council, to assist businesses being impacted by required closures and other disruptions. Business owners are encouraged to connect with these and other resources that will be available in the coming weeks.

“We are resilient,” said Mayor Jason Gray. “We are strong, and we will come out stronger, better and – most importantly – more together than ever.”
