As a nationally accredited agency, the Town’s Public Works Department strives for excellence in all areas. The department was recently awarded a Best in Colorado Award from the Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association for the reconstruction of Butterfield Crossing Drive.
Best in Colorado Awards are presented annually to recognize the quality efforts of asphalt producers, contractors and agencies throughout Colorado. In 2019, Butterfield Crossing Drive was selected for reconstruction as part of the Town’s annual Pavement Maintenance Program. The $2 million project was awarded to contractor Schmidt Construction Co.
The work displayed excellent overall quality and smoothness and received near perfect to perfect scores in several criteria, according to the Colorado Asphalt Pavement Association.
“Roadwork can present challenges for residents, but we strive to minimize disruptions, while working to provide an outstanding final product to the public that will last for years to come” said Public Works Director Dan Sailer. “This award recognizes the comprehensive teamwork taken by the Town and contractor to meet these objectives.”
The award was presented to the Town and Schmidt Construction at a banquet earlier this year.
Schmidt Construction is currently working on the reconstruction of Meadows Boulevard. Learn more about the Town’s Pavement Maintenance Program at CRgov.com/PMP.
