Do you have questions about how the Town uses revenue, or how the Town funds its projects? We believe budgets reflect community priorities, and we’d like your input.
Residents are encouraged to join the 2021 Budget conversation at an online open house from 6 to 7 p.m., Thursday, July 16, to discover how Town leaders create an annual budget. Learn more about upcoming projects, and find out what impact the pandemic is having on Town finances.
The open house will be an informal setting where Town staff will share information about budget-related items and community members will have the opportunity to ask questions. Feedback gathered at the open house will be used, along with input gathered through other means, to affirm the Town’s strategic priorities moving forward.
The 2021 Budget open house will be accessible at CRgov.com/2021Budget. Help frame the conversation, and fill out a quick survey in advance. The survey will be available until 5 p.m., Tuesday, July 14, at CRgov.com/2021Budget.
By law, the Town’s annual operating budget must be balanced, meaning the Town cannot spend more on day-to-day operations than it’s going to take in during the year. This means prioritizing will undoubtedly be necessary, as needs are always growing along with the community.
The Preliminary 2021 Budget is anticipated to be presented to Town Council in August, followed by Council’s formal adoption of next year’s budget in September.
Unable to attend the open house? Visit CRgov.com/2021Budget for more information and to provide feedback.
